About Chaudhary Charan Singh University
Chaudhary Charan Singh University, formerly Meerut University, was established in 1965 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It was subsequently renamed after Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Prime Minister of India. The university's main campus covers approximately 222 acres and includes academic departments, laboratories, library, hostels, sports facilities and other student amenities.
CCSU has developed into a major higher-education institution serving students across western Uttar Pradesh. Its academic structure includes numerous teaching departments and institutes, including Charak School of Pharmacy, Sir Chhotu Ram Institute of Engineering & Technology and the Institute of Fine Arts, along with various constituent colleges.
The university offers programmes across areas such as Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Applications, Economics, Education, English, Environmental Science, Fine Arts, Food Science & Technology, Foreign Languages, Forensic Science, Pharmacy and Engineering & Technology, among others.
CCSU currently holds an A++ grade from NAAC, the highest accreditation grade in the NAAC grading framework. The university's official website also identifies it as a State Public University and reports its current rankings and academic achievements.
